Like to learn the basics of using the internet and emails for free. The shed has six online computers joined to the State Government’s BROADBAND FOR SENIORS initiative.

 Run by a very knowledgeable instructor, you will quickly  be up to speed

Broadband for Seniors

The Shed has a variety of activities in which members can become involved. Wood work is the main activity, with repairs, restoration and manufacture, as the shed is equipped with hand, power and machinery tools to complete most jobs

Some metal work and welding, gardening, a well equipped computer room, and fund raising raffles and garage sale

Fund Raising

The Men’s Shed is self funded and need regular funds to operate. It relies on Membership and attendance fees, Corp membership, grants  and donations of money and saleable goods.

The Shed also runs raffles and a monthly Garage Sale ( the Men’s Shed Bazaar) on the fourth Friday and Sat of the month.

Donation of Goods

Donations of saleable goods for the Garage Sale can be dropped off at Eden St any Mon morning.Or at the Shed any Tues. Weds or Thurs in the Ten-Pin bowling Complex, South St. South Kempsey

 The Shed provides a place for men and women to go and mix with others, share their skills, learn new skills, make new friends and enjoy each others  company. The shed is  a place for men to go, get out the house, get off the couch for a while, mix with men of all ages, have a yarn and tell their story; there is always someone to listen. The Shed has people of all ages and experience with a host of abilities and  knowledge  they share with others.


Women have their own day; they call The Ladies Shed. They attend the Shed for some of the same reasons as the men, as well as the opportunity to  learn new skills, use of woodworking tools and machinery . Often involved in small home repairs and building or restoring furniture.

The Kempsey Men’s Shed is a; self funded, non-profit, community based organization, with a variety of activities. Providing an woodworking workshop, with workbenches,  fixed machines, power and  hand tools. All under the eye of a qualified supervisor

Attendance fee of $3  covers tea, coffee and buiscuits
